What can you do to help?
Provide your child with a quiet place to
work. Check the planner EVERY NIGHT! Discuss the assignments listed and any long
term project that he or she may be working on.
Please check and sign your child’s planner
each night and progress report/academic packet each week.
Help your child master basic multiplication,
division, addition, and subtraction facts. This is the base of our math program
and it is vital that these facts are mastered and fluent as soon as possible.
In order to build reading comprehension, it
is crucial that your child is reading every evening. 10-20 minutes average is
what’s expected. When a book is
completed, your child can either take a reading counts (comprehension) test on
the computer, or write a summary in “Step up to Writing” format.
Help your child learn weekly spelling
words.
